This course is a continuation of Beginning Chinese I. It further teaches Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar essentials, starts to develop skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will read simple texts and use short sentences to express themselves. Broader knowledge of Chinese culture is introduced. After completion of this course, students will master about 300 Chinese characters, basic sentence patterns and most grammars, be able to communicate with others in short phrases on common topics. The course is also designed for those who are preparing HSK Test Level 2 and want to pass it with a high score.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas

Inaugurated in November 2007, the Confucius Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas is a non-profit public educational institution. Its mission is to teach Chinese language and culture, support Chinese language instruction in local schools, train Chinese language teachers, and promote academic research on China.
